Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is my mother's birthday, and she would have been 54 years old today. She has been with the Lord for 5 years now and my children and I decorate the little dwarf Christmas tree we planted a while ago for her birthday every year. This year, my little girl, Chloe, crocheted a beaded garland for Grandma's little tree. (You can see it a little bit in the picture) Mom's favorite time of year was Christmas and the house was always beautifully decorated for the season. Memories always flood my heart and mind of her and all the things we did together and even though the memories sometimes bring tears, I'm thankful that I have the memories. Thankful that my Mom left me a goodly heritage. Her testimony and ministry has been able to be a blessing and help to women all over the world, even after her death. I'm so thankful to be a part of that.

The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. 

Thinking of my mother's influence in my life, always makes me take my motherhood very seriously. Each day counts with your children. Each lesson and manner taught makes an impact. Each moment spent with your child is precious. I know this because I no longer have those moments with my mother. Every time one of my children does something adorable or they reach another milestone or there is a new addition to my family, I want to share all of that with her, but can't anymore. Don't waste the precious moments you have with your own parents and your own children. We are all passing through time, but like the verse in Psalm says, are you leaving a goodly heritage? What memories of you will you leave behind? What impact will you have made in your family's lives and those in your sphere of influence?
I hope and pray that my family will benefit from my life and that I let the Lord work through me to bless them and help them. May that be your prayer too...

I do have one prayer request and that is for our website for our ministry. We did not have the funds this year to renew our site, so it is currently down. Please pray that the Lord will meet the need so we can continue to let others know of our ministry to Italy. Thank you :)

I wanted to send you this poem today, and I remember it sitting on my mother's desk for many years before she died. She was always encouraged by this poem and I hope you will be encouraged with its truths along with me... Haynes Family Prayer Letter - October 2018

October 2018 Dear Supporting Churches and Friends, Got some good news to report in from this past month.  First, I will tell you about a great project which Justine is doing  for two orphanages in Rome. A while back, somebody gifted Justine about 100 skeins of yarn (that’s one of those yarn thingies for all you guys out there).  Justine was praying about using the yarn to make something on a large scale for a group of people, but also using it to get the Gospel of our Lord Jesus to that specific group .  One of Justine’s heroes is Dorcas because she made garments for the poor as her ministry, which ultimately brought Glory to God when Peter raised her from the dead in Acts 9.  Justine got in touch with an orphanage in Rome which currently has 80 kids living there.
