A Blessing Out Of Tangled Yarn
Amidst my love of learning more about crochet, I developed an interest in Tunisian crochet, but I've yet to try it. I did express an interest in it to the Lord, tho. Have you ever seen the Tunisian crochet hooks? They are really long, but they produce a really neat looking stitch.
The other day, I was working on a winter shawl for baby Claudia from some yarn that a friend so kindly gave me from her craft closet that she didn't want anymore. I was having a particularly hard time with the yarn continually tangling! It was a nightmare! Honestly, I was considering not continuing the project, it was that bad. But I spent quite a while separating strands of yarn and unknotting everything and then continued on with my work.
The next day, I was working on the shawl again, and ran into yet another seemingly internal knot. With a huge sigh, I lifted the large skein of yarn to investigate the new issue and realized that the yarn was stuck on something. So I felt inside and grabbed hold of a stick and pulled it out. It was a crochet hook! But not just any crochet hook - it was a TUNISIAN CROCHET hook! :) I just laughed and thanked the Lord for not letting me give up on the project and for rewarding me in a special way!
It was too funny actually - of all things to find! God has such ways of making us feel special! So soon I will be starting another new project with my new hook from the Lord!
I am continually amazed at the sweetness of the Lord and I always wonder why I struggle so with the things I do with such confirmations as I get of His love toward me! Why does He take such time and effort to confirm His love to me?! It's an amazing love He has and gives to us all. I hope that these posts that I write help you to see His love too.
Romans 5:8, But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
If we would just include the Lord in our lives more, we would see more of these special answers to prayer! He is there waiting and wanting to be a part of your life too! Are you giving Jesus the silent treatment? Oh how I hope not! He is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother and I know that I have only scratched the surface of the friendship that I could have with Him. I want to be a better friend to the Lord.
