Heavenly Recipe: Ginger Mint Green Tea

Many of you know that my husband is from the south and so as a result of that, he occasionally likes iced tea. I never grew up drinking sweet tea and find the southern sweet tea to be overwhelmingly sweet - like a sugar transfusion! It puts me in a major slump after I drink it as my hypoglycemic body screams at me for drinking so much sugar! So I have never given it to our family for the harm the white sugar does to everyone PLUS regular tea bags contain high amounts of fluoride in them which really harms the thyroid gland.
BUT in my efforts to please my husband, thank the Lord for being able to easily find organic sugar and teas. I had some of the teas pictured above that I found on clearance and I had some fresh, organic mint from our pastor's garden which I dried this summer.
This green tea blend, which I love for it's digestive benefits and antioxidant properties, is very light and refreshing while not too strong in any one flavor - it's very well balanced. And if you too have alot of mint, either fresh or dried, this is a great way to use it!

Here's my recipe:

3 bags of organic green tea
2 bags of organic ginger green tea
1 small bunch of mint
1/2 cup of organic sugar

I brewed my tea bags and mint first in a small pot of filtered water. Then when the tea bags had steeped long enough, I removed them and while the water was still warm, I stirred in the sugar so it would dissolve. Let the brew cool a little longer, then transfer to a pitcher and fill the rest of the pitcher up to the top with more filtered water. Cool in the refrigerator and enjoy!

I hope you enjoy this delicious and healthy sweet tea as much as my family and I did! My husband was thrilled with the results and praise the Lord for that!!! Taking care of your husband and family is a ministry and it's easy to lose sight of that. May I encourage you today to be faithful with your ministry!

One of my favorite verses:
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
~Proverbs 31:27,28
