Haynes Family Prayer Letter - January 2017

January 2017

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
Waiting in the van at the post office parking lot, through the rear view mirror, the figure of a man approaches me—staring at the back of my van. Little does he know, my dark sunglasses allow me to appear to look one way yet studying him...deciding my course of action. As he nears the driver's door, I get out to meet him: "Hey Man, What's going on?" I asked. With tears in his eyes he tells me: "I saw your sticker on your van...my life is such a wreck." This guy had some real issues, and I took some time right there in the Post Office parking lot to listen to him. After listening to his concerns, I gave him Scripture verses from a Bible I keep in the van and told him he needed to be in church....to be around God's people. He really needed to stop trying to figure everything out on his own and let the Lord through preaching of His Word direct his path. After inviting him to church once I covered Salvation with him (and I believe he was saved), then we exchanged info and I left. Sunday rolled around and he came to church for 1 service. I haven't seen him back, but please pray that Dieter (Dee-Ter) would have the obedience to listen to God and not himself! Oh how I love scripture signs—they get the Word out everywhere you go! I even caught Mormons laughing and taking pictures of the signs on the van—I say GREAT! Praise God! Those guys are going to show ALL THEIR friends—that's called leverage right there.
We had news from Italy this month that my good friend Marco (the pizza guy) is very seriously ill....he had a liver transplant, but it still isn't working correctly and the doctors do not believe he is strong enough for another surgery. I wrote him a letter translated into Italian re-explaining about his need of Salvation. As of this week, we know the letter arrived. Please pray for Marco that he would make the right decision about Christ before it's too late.
Good news:
The devil is hard at work on us! Take a look at Romans 15:20-22. We have had long lasting sickness, terrible phone issues (my new current number is 256-746-3883), churches who didn't even remember scheduling us so we lost the meeting...BUT GOD! We had another church take us on for support! The protective hand of God on us: I was selected to give some canned goods to a lady and while walking near the road some of the cans fell out of the bag...in the rain...so I turned back and went to pick them up. While turning away from the road, BANG! The familiar sound of a collision of metal (aka car wreck) happened RIGHT WHERE I was going to be standing. God is merciful!
We will be in FL for February, and are very happy to report fruit to our supporting churches and friends who continue the reaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who have not heard. Thank you my dear friends!
In Christ,
Bro. Harrison Haynes
Your Missionary to Italy
