Haynes Family Prayer Letter - September 2017
SEPTEMBER 2017
Dear Supporting Churches,
Oh so much has gone on over the past month! We, as always, appreciate your prayers for our family while on deputation! Along with some other missionaries, we had a mission’s conference get canceled near Houston, TX due to damage from the hurricanes--not much you can do about the weather. Yet at the same time we have some really good Gospel news. Justine and I are always trying to find effective ways of getting the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to the lost in Italy. Chick Tracts are a very effective tract for Italians so we developed a way to get the Gospel to Italians, even while on the road. I simply took some pictures of the Italian tracts I use on my deputation display table, Justine turned it into a video and timed it all to hymns as background music. We uploaded 2 tracts to the internet and then advertised it in ELEVEN major high internet traffic cities in Italy (including Sicily and Sardinia). I pray this will be an effective tool of sowing the seed in Italy BEFORE we even get to the field so the Word of God will take root in Italian hearts. We are looking forward to the results of this outreach because Justine personally had a chance to share the gospel with a Sicilian online, gave him the link to the tract...after reading/watching it he replied with great thanks for sending him the Gospel. Please pray for this guy, his name is Sal and he is in Sicily.
Another good thing I wish to tell you is we gave a “Saved Italian American...ask me how” T-shirt that we designed, to a brother. He wore the T-shirt to dinner one night and a person asked him about the T-shirt and he was able to share the Gospel to the cashier the very night he received the shirt and excitedly reported to us that “the shirt works!” Only one part of the work of the ministry is sowing seed and it seems God has given us open doors with sowing seed….even while on deputation. “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” 1 Corin. 4:2
Justine’s health is better this month...we appreciate your continued prayers for healing! The kids are well and homeschooling is going well at the moment. Please continue to pray for us with upcoming travel, continued health for the road, and support continued to be raised for the ministry work in Italy.
Sincerely in Christ,
Bro. Harrison Haynes and Family
