Requirements of Restoration

RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS!
By Pam Iannello (my late mother)

"Requirements of Restoration"

2 Chron. 7:14 (KJV)
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Effectual prayer requires a right relationship with God. There is no way you can read this portion of scripture and its adjoining verses and not become conscious of that fact! The way we live does have an impact upon whether or not our prayers are answered.

  • Are you certain of your salvation?
  • Have you gained God’s ear by way of your humility?
  • How often does pride interfere with your prayer life?
  • Are you in the habit of seeking God’s face or avoiding Him?
  • Are you serious about confessing and forsaking your sin - permanently?
  • Are you positioned for God’s restorative involvement in your life?
  • Have your daily, hourly, and moment by moment choices made you an eligible recipient of God’s great promises?

Ladies, God responds to our prayers IF our hearts and lives are right! Truly, we are our own worst enemies when it comes to gaining ground as a Christian… No matter how long you’ve been saved, or how many good goals you’ve accomplished, or how many victories you’ve enjoyed as a believer, you can still lose the game, so to speak, even if you have a huge lead! How so? Sin. Sin will rob us of the excellent benefits that a pure life affords us. Sin plugs the ears of God. Sin snubs God’s forgiveness. Sin underrates restoration with God. Sin summons death…

Stop and consider what the Bible is pointing out to each one of us in this text! Do you fear God’s displeasure or not? Do you intend to deal with your sin as God has stated here in His Word? Does it matter to you if you lose out on God’s blessings in your life? Ladies, the Lord has made it perfectly clear what kind of treatment we will receive of Him based on our treatment of His Word and will. Our heavenly Father has the power to bring health and cure to our diseases and dilemmas – why do we fritter it away on our wicked behavior?? So many of us whine and whimper over our circumstances as if we were victims of God’s unfairness rather than sufferers of our own lack of repentance and obedience!

Faithful and devoted saints receive much help from the Lord; He responds to true remorse for sin. Did you ever stop to consider that repentance might figure into the solution to a problem you face this week? What healing do you desire and how might you help to bring it about? Asking God to fix things might not be the right action you need to take – it could be that you need to correct your conduct so that your prayers can be heard!

God Bless,
Pam
