October Prayer Letter
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
I changed some things on my website (haynes4italy.com) so last month’s prayer letter might not have gotten out. This is the prayer letter for the month of October, 2013. I have several updates and want to thank each and every person for their prayers.
First, I am very excited and thankful to Jesus Christ that I had the honor and privilege to lead my daughter to Christ! Chloe is 5 years old, and we started talking to her about sin and the consequences of sin when we were on the mission filed in Italy. I never want to push salvation on to someone, and get them to pray a prayer without meaning it…I just keep giving them the Bible and giving them the information they need to make the decision for themselves. On October 1st, I showed my daughter from the Bible the entire plan of salvation and she decided she wanted to be saved since she knew she was a sinner and knew where sinners go without Christ’s Blood. –she prayed a very sweet prayer of forgiveness, asking Jesus to forgive her and save her! Thank God.
As God would have it I came into contact with another missionary who went through very similar problems I encountered while on the mission field. He gave me some advice about how the devil and his workers attack missionaries specifically. I am taking his advice (along with my pastor’s) and I am seeing a very happy change in many areas of my life.
When I returned from the field, I returned with several goals in mind. One goal was to get some things right and “rebuild” some bridges I had burned. I am happy to announce I have mended many bridges and gotten many things right. I know what it is like to need some grace when a decision must be made…it is not a fun place to be, yet often necessary in growth.
A few prayer requests (please): Justine and our “Italian baby” are doing well, please pray the Lord will allow everything to continue to run smoothly (Justine and the baby have insurance). Also, Justine’s grandfather will be coming to town for Thanksgiving with all the needed paperwork to prove Justine’s “roots” in Italy and therefore she can get Italian citizenship—please just be in prayer about this as that paperwork is a headache in Rome! Please also continue to pray the Lord allow me to have the grace to see the doors He opens for me and to do it! I need to share this: Chloe (out of nowhere) told Justine she wanted to be baptized in Italy because she can’t speak enough Italian to witness to people in Italy—but they could see her get baptized, and then hear Bro. Homan preach (in Italian) the gospel of Christ and they might get saved! --What a sweet thing.
Thanks again as that I am being faithful in a local NT church, but still seeking HOW the Lord wants me to do WHAT He called me to do!
In Christ,
Bro. Harrison Haynes
