My Maker

RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS! \O/

Psalm 95:6 (KJV)
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.

It occurred to me today as I read the above scripture verse that I rarely regard the fact that God is my Maker. The dictionary defines maker as one that makes, forms, shapes or molds.  Ladies, if we were more aware that everything about us originates with the Lord, there would be clearer evidence of it in our form, our shape and the general molding of our lives.  Yes, God does rule all, but how are we responding to His authority? Here the psalmist invites us to do three things before the Lord our maker:

1)      worship
2)     bow down
3)     kneel

Considering those three aspects of the above verse, let me pose a few questions. Are you faithful in attending worship services whenever the doors of your church are open? Does your life exemplify reverence for the Lord? How closely is your conduct molded after Christ? Would humility be one of your noted character traits? Do you humbly wait for God’s commands? How regularly do you kneel in prayer? Is your posture one of surrender – internally and externally? I believe these things would be obvious if we submitted to the Lord as our Maker

Psalm 100:3 (KJV)
Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

As our Creator, the Lord has the only right in and over us. We should constantly devote our lives to Him. Are you living that way, dear lady? Perhaps you are operating as if YOU were your own maker… Though the Bible tells us to, we almost never acknowledge God in all our ways.  As self-employed spiritual architects, we make our own decisions and our own plans apart from seeking God’s face. We do what we want, when we want, and how we want, for as long as we want. And if we don’t want to, we won’t - and we usually don’t!  Ladies, we have forgotten something very essential – the Lord HE is God!  We don’t consider ourselves His creatures, yet He IS our Maker!  Are you letting Him make you?? Or will He have to break you to do it? If we are not thinking of the Lord as our Maker then we have to ask ourselves what He is to us… And when we take a proper perspective toward the Lord then the shape of our lives will prove it.  Know it, consider it and apply it – He is your Maker!

Job 36:3 (KJV)
I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

Who are you ascribing your righteousness to, dear lady? Some Christians actually talk about their own purity as if they acquired it themselves. Listen, any goodness we have is a result of GOD at work in us! If we remembered the Lord as our Maker more often, we wouldn’t set up idols in our lives. There would be no despising and no envying if believers better understood they had the same Maker. The rich and the poor, the simple and the wise could all dwell together in unity. All differences are extinguished as people stand before their Maker.

Isaiah 17:7 (KJV)
At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.

In closing, God would have us turn back to Him and to the humbling realization that He is the One who should hold all authority over our lives. Being unmindful of God is at the root of all our sin. Do your eyes truly have respect to your Maker? If so, you would be found worshipping, bowing down and kneeling before the Lord - and inviting others to do the same!

God Bless,
Pam
