Heavenly Remedy: Aloe and Honey Eye Wash

This month has brought some interesting illnesses and challenges to say the least!
But thank the Lord that He again came to my aid in time of need and helped me use the wonderful ingredients that He made and knows how to combine for their healing benefits!
Which brings me to the use of this new remedy in which I combined two very powerful yet soothing and healing ingredients to make this amazing eye wash! First of all, I got something in my left eye this month and it got infected somehow, so my eye was beet red and getting kind of itchy and crusty (I know, sorry, it sounds nasty) THEN my son, Clarke got a corneal abrasion (scratched the surface of his eye) while playing around with Dad!!! Being a mother is a terrifying job sometimes - especially when things like this happen and your child is uncontrollably screaming with pain and holding his eye. Once I got him calmed down enough for me to take a look at the problem, I saw the scratch on his eye and immediately did the necessary research and typical remedy for such a problem in the medical world and come to find out, most eye doctors just give drops and say to basically just let it heal on its own. SO, I was relieved to hear that, but also knew there was something we could do to speed up the healing and eliminate the pain. Making your own eye wash is very easy to do and honey is wonderful for healing, helping with pain, and killing any bacteria in the wound as well as aloe which also helps to soothe. So I boiled about a 1/2 cup of purified water for a couple of minutes to boil off any impurities, and then let this cool down til just barely warm and then added in 1/2 tablespoon of raw honey and 1/2 tablespoon of pure aloe vera juice and mixed til combined.
I then poured a bit onto a paper towel to wet that and laid it as a compress over his closed eye. When the drops were cool enough, I used a clean glass dropper and put 3 drops in the corner of his eye near the tear duct and then laid the compress back on. The drops felt great to him and really did take the pain away and soothe the eye. We then put a night mask over the compress and just let his eye heal overnight. The next day I applied more drops again and kept the compress on even though he could open his eye a little. I was also giving him aloe in his water to drink as well to aid in healing. By the time 24 hours rolled around, he was doing so much better! On day 2, I applied the drops one last time and asked him at night, Clarke, do you want me to put more drops in your eye tonight? His reply, "No thanks, Mom, my body can take it from here!" 😍 Praise the Lord! He has had no more problems with it and his eye has healed beautifully! Oh yeah, and my infection kinda took a back burner for a couple days, but I thought, hey! I should try these drops too, and sure enough, my infection was also gone within 24 hours, but even better than that, the redness was gone in just a few minutes! Anytime you are looking for eye drops to use for kids or adults for infections to itchy allergy eyes, try this simple but very effective eye wash recipe and you too will be very pleased with the results!
