Our Month: TN to VA & Stone Therapy

This month, Claire made her first meal with Mommy and I let her do most of the work. She made Tortellini in Brodo (broth). Tortellini is her favorite dish and she helped me make the broth from scratch too, while we were in a prophet's chamber in Alabama. I was so proud of my 3 year old's first meal! It was delicious!

Clint is crawling now and he also got his first bad sickness along with 3 others in our crew…bronchitis. He is so pitiful and we had quite a week of it together of sleepless nights in the bathroom with the shower on for steam. Please pray for his complete recovery and for the rest of us as we have really struggled with our health this month!

We also got to see family this month in Virginia for my grandfather’s 85th birthday reunion. It was so special and I’m so glad that our meetings worked out so we could be there for that. It was a great time and we got to share the gospel as well while we were there!

Also, a little something special that God has taught me this last month in my reading and meditating, I found in Psalm 18:2, The Lord is my Rock…

I was pondering that concept and thinking about God as a Rock. When I was a little girl, I lived in upstate NY, right near Lake Ontario. We used to go to the pier quite often in the summer months and in the evening, walk the pier with an ice cream cone as a family. We would often sit on the big rocks along the pier as we enjoyed our sweet treat and the rocks would be still warm underneath you from the sun and it would be so relaxing. There would be people all along the pier laying on the rocks and enjoying the calming effect.
So too is the Lord like these rocks. He tells us to come to Him with our full and oft heavy hearts, for in Him we will find refuge and strength – strength that doesn't give way or crumble no matter how heavy your heart is. He is like those warm rocks and brings us the restorative power from the warmth of His SON as we lean on Him.

People often use stone therapy and put warm rocks on their spine after a massage. Well, as a Christian, we need to be sure to have that stone therapy time with our Rock, Christ Jesus and in Him find that calming strength that only He can give – go ahead, lay on the Rock and find exactly what it is in Matthew 11:28,
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.
I hope this thought was as encouraging to you as it was to me as this month has been particularly stressful for us and I know that everyone has their stresses in life and needs this encouragement too. Remember the hymn that puts it so well…
“O Jesus is the Rock in a weary land a shelter in the time of storm.”

Keep Praying For Us! Ciao :)
