Grass in the Desert?!

And when it was evening, his disciples came unto him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away...But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat...And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took... WAIT A MINUTE! What was that there?
Grass in the DESERT???? (Matt 14:15-19)

I don't know about you, but one thing I would NOT expect to find in the desert is grass. Grass means water and good soil!

Most of the time, we focus on the next part of the story and the feeding of the five thousand and how Jesus multiplied the bread and fishes. But I think that grass in the desert for at least 10,000 people to sit on is quite a miracle too!!!

Our family has been going through a desert place in our lives for quite a while now and we would appreciate your prayers! Sometimes it's difficult to be patient travelling through a desert to the other side, but there is no way around it - you have to go through the desert! I know you all have desert places that you have been in or are going through now and you know what I am talking about. One thing I have learned while going through this desert place is that Jesus provides grass in the desert. He knows when we need spiritual rest and refreshment and just how and when to bring it! He's not in any way limited as to how He brings that refreshment either, just as the rest of the story shows! What a blessing that is :)
Psalm 23:2
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures...

I'm sure most of you already knew all of this, but I just wanted to encourage you and remind you that even though a desert is a hard place to be, God is there too going through it with you! Isn't that a good God to go through things with us??! How humbling and then on top of that, He gives us grass in the desert. Amen!
Psalm 27:13
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
