Kitchen Secrets

Image
Rise and Shine for Jesus! By Pam Iannello (my late mother) Luke 14:12-14 (KJV) Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbors; lest they also bid thee again; and a recompense be made thee.  But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:  And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee:  for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. “When thou makest a dinner or a supper”… Hopefully this activity is something that you engage in frequently and take pleasure in doing! Actually, ladies, this is not to be understood as something we do when we feel like it but the Lord expects it to be a regular occurrence. How do I know that? Because the Bible says WHEN, not IF thou makest a dinner or a supper… Yes, God even keeps track of what we do at home in the kitchen and He is just as concerned with the atti

Ladies Tea Party

Image
This last Sunday, June 16 th , we had a ladies fellowship/tea party and I was given the honor of being the “guest of honor” and also sharing my life testimony with the ladies at church. It was a blessing to share and the hospitality of the ladies means so much to me. So many of the people here are internationals and away from their families while working here in Italy and sending money back home to support their loved ones. All the while, you see smiles on their faces in the midst of their trials and burdens. Their testimonies speak volumes to me and I hope that I can be a blessing to them as well. Please pray as we continue to look for housing as our rent is up here at the end of the month. The Lord has given us so many open doors here to witness, and we want to be sure to be sensitive to the Lord’s placement of our family so we can continue to be used.

Keeping Love Alive

RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS! \O/ By Pam Iannello (my mother) Writing is something I love to do. I also love to learn how to perfect my skills on the computer, especially artistically. I love going for long walks with my husband early in the morning. I love meeting the needs of my children. I love cleaning my house and organizing closets and drawers. I love yard work. I love chatting with little kids and tapping into their perspective on various things. I love watching television shows pertaining to archaeological digs. I love searching out family history and finding old photos that introduce me to past relatives and offer clues to the kind of life they lived. I love teaching. I love listening to people’s problems and helping them to solve them Biblically. Come to think of it, there are lots of things that I love! In fact, it is hard for me to think about NOT loving anything I just listed, yet it is possible that my love for these and many other things could diminish or die out al

Keep Your Mouth

Rise and Shine for Jesus! \O/ By Pam Iannello Proverbs 13:2-3 (KJV) A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence. [3] He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. Ever wondered how you always end up in sticky discussions or never ending arguments? Ever get weary of finding yourself in the midst of silly disputes or cruel conversations? Does hostility hover over all your marital chats? Do you find that every time you try to talk about something important the end result is damaging? Is there an underlying aggression to your dialogue in general? Do you find that most of your words grow to be an assault on your listener’s character? Are you frustrated with your inability to form healthy bonds with other people? If any of those questions pertain to you, the Bible has the cure for your chronic disorder as a Christian! Ladies, if we would experience GOOD in our l

Just A Talker

RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS! By Pam Iannello Have you ever been involved in a relationship where the other party is a talker and a poor listener? It is exasperating and just about impossible to build a bond with someone who is bent on being the sole speaker in every setting. In the end, people who have a habit of not listening will find that nobody will listen to them! And so it is with the Lord, but on a more serious scale…   Proverbs 28:9 (KJV) He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. Ladies, it greatly upsets God when we sport an indifferent attitude toward His Word. Think about it; the Bible is filled with things that God has said to His children and the whole world, for that matter. There is counsel in His Word and comfort; there are commands and criticisms and challenges. His Word is filled with promises and warnings and answers and even useful questions. Have you been listening to the Lord? Or have you been doing all

Showers of Blessing

Image
Showers of Blessing We are doing well – we’ve lived our first month in Italy, which it’s still hard to believe we are here sometimes! The Lord is answering many prayers and opening many doors. I’ve been able to use my love of crochet to get the Gospel out and be a blessing which is so exciting! Also, Harrison has a job working on a very large farm here, but because of the unseasonable rain, hasn’t been able to start yet. That being said, our finances are very tight, and absolutely everything we need I take to the Lord in prayer; including soap. We didn’t have any more and so I prayed about it on Saturday. Then Sunday morning, there was a very nice lady in church who brought bags of clothes for the children and a clock (which I prayed for to go in my kitchen) and some bed linens. I didn’t have a chance to go through everything at church. But when I got home, I was thanking the Lord for His faithfulness to us yet again, and there in the bottom of the bag were 5 bars of soap!
