SAY NOT

Image
Rise and Shine for Jesus! \O/ By Pam Iannello (my late mother) "SAY NOT" Proverbs 24:29 (KJV) Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work. Humility admits imperfection, wouldn’t you agree? That's why, in the spirit of meekness, a reasonable individual understands that people will fail them as they will fail others from time to time. BUT, when we respond to the sinful behavior of other people in the manner described above, we leave no room for God’s character to be demonstrated in and through us. Ladies, when somebody serves us up a huge dose of flesh, more often than not we serve a huge dose of flesh back, thus the fleshly ping-pong tournament is set in motion. Back and forth we go, quenching the Spirit with every come back… Then, in the end, the pastor is called to patch up the battered and bruised participants and bring healing to an event they could have averted at the outset if someone ha

Ruling Your Spirit

RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS! By Pam Iannello (my late mother) "Ruling Your Spirit" What gets you mad? What sorts of issues tend to inflame you? How do you vent your anger and frustration? Would the Lord consider you a person who is good at managing yourself during emotional peaks of any kind? If not, what is your strategy to better controlling the way in which you deal with anger or express your irritations in general? Perhaps even contemplating this topic is highly agitating to you! If so, you need to read on… In fact, we all should, so let’s brave the storm and look at what God says about the things that take place inside of us… Proverbs 16:32 (KJV) He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. According to the Word of God, it takes more power, wisdom, and strength to rule our spirits than it does to capture and claim authority over a whole city! The question is - are you winning t

"When Thou Passest Through the Waters"

"When thou passest through the waters" Deep the waves may be and cold But Jehovah is our refuge, And His promise is our hold; For the Lord Himself hath said it, He, the faithful God and true: "When thou comest to the waters Thou shalt not go down, BUT THROUGH" Seas of sorrow, seas of trial, Bitterest anguish, fiercest pain, Rolling surges of temptation Sweeping over heart and brain - They shall never overflow us For we know His word is true; All His waves and all His billows He will lead us safely THROUGH. Threatening breakers of destruction, Doubt's insidious undertow, Shall not sink us, shall not drag us Out to ocean depths of woe; For His promise shall sustain us, Praise the Lord, whose Word is true! We shall not go down, or under, For He saith, "Thou passest THROUGH." ~Annie Johnson Flint When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou walkest th

Rule Your Heart

Image
RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS! By Pam Iannello (my late mother) "Rule Your Heart" Col. 3:15 (KJV) And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Rule : judge, decide, govern When peace rules in your heart that is proof that your heart is right with God. When we lose our peace, it is awful proof that we have lost something else; that we have given way to evil and grieved the Spirit of God in dropping off our connection to Him. And ladies, this occurs when we cease depending upon the Lord… Are you letting peace rule your heart or an assortment of anxieties? Peace is not the absence of a threat – it is a constant controlling power in the face of any and all trials or tragedies. Think about the latest situations that have come about in your life just this past week – how did you handle each one? How did you counsel yourself as circumstances unfolded? What is your typical train of

Haynes Family Prayer Letter - September 2018

Image
SEPTEMBER 2018 Dear Churches and Friends, As always, I hope this letter finds you well in our Lord Jesus Christ!  Thank you for your prayers as we have had some very good seed planting this month, and things are moving forward with the ministry! We have had another increase in support with another church having taken us on, and I am happy to state that we are currently at 64% at the end of September.  I can’t wait to “round third and head Rome”--baseball terms...but with the Italian twist! We started looking at the paperwork process, which turns out is a great blessing because we only need to update/renew our passports--this should save some headaches because we are already in the system. The current needs/prayer requests for the ministry are basically the same from last month with the van and place to “winter”. Everywhere I have called this last month, which is nothing less than 20 missions houses, are all booked until the spring.  The best possible situ
