Dear Worshiper: Christian Book Review

Image
This last week I was asked to review the book, Dear Worshiper ,  by Rocky Dania. Rocky has a very sincere heart to want to worship and praise the Lord how HE is most pleased and you can easily see that in her writings.  I was moved by her desire to truly move and motivate Christians today to take a true look at their reasons for worshiping God. She exposes the materialism of America and how it blinds the Christians here to their purpose for being here on this Earth. The topics that Rocky covers concern many of the anxieties that Christians face in their hearts, minds, families, communities, and personal lives...but she doesn't just stop there! She uses the principles of the Bible to reveal that our stability comes from meditating on God's goodness. I like her "Self Analysis for Worship": Create a self-analysis for worship using the 5 W's and 1 H formula: Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How. ● Who do I worship? ● What do I worship? ● When do I wors

WHAT I’M LEARNING THROUGH CHRIST FROM CANCER

Image
WHAT I’M LEARNING THROUGH CHRIST FROM CANCER By Pam Iannello (my late mother) May this list of things that God taught my mom through her battle with cancer, be a  blessing and encouragement to you! I'm sure you know someone that is struggling  with illness and probably even cancer, please feel free to pass this along to them to  help them on their journey too.  God doesn’t put more on me than I can bear (in the power of His might). Nothing is too hard for the Lord. God’s grace IS sufficient and deserves more respect than we give it. God’s Word is true; it’s enough; and it’s powerful!  I love my Bible. God’s Spirit is sweet and personal and can be with me where and when no one else can. Prayer is more precious than good health. Being surrounded by prayer warriors is the best medicine! Be faithful with prayer requests because you never know when your name will be added to the list! Preaching primes us privately for the race that

Runaway: A Story of Hagar

Image
The story of Hagar in the Bible is one we all can in some way or another associate with in our hearts and lives. She finds herself away from all things comfortable and familiar in her life and in a very uncomfortable and foreign situation with Abraham and Sara, becomes pregnant for a woman that hates her and in the end meets her One True Love - her God that sees her and is with her through it all. One finds it hard to imagine all the many thoughts and feelings that went through Hagar's heart and mind; the pain she must have suffered and yet the joy to discover that Someone cared for her. This week, I was asked to read and review a Bible fiction account of the story of Hagar. Since the Bible doesn't say very many details of Hagar's life, the author, Charles Millson, fills in the details with his vivid imagination. I was so drawn into the book, I felt as if I were there watching the whole story unfurl. It was vibrantly written and I truly enjoyed feeling part of Hagar&

Public Appearances

Me and my Blessings!  RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS! By Pam Iannello (my late mother) "Public Appearances" Would you consider yourself to be a spiritually disciplined person? Do you get up early to read your Bible and pray? Do you read a set number of chapters every day? Do you faithfully tithe and even offer extra financial support for church needs or various ministries? Do you have certain convictions that you strongly adhere to, such as long hair, long dresses, no birth control etc.? How much of your personal relationship with Christ is kept private and how much is made public? Matthew 6:16-18 (KJV) Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. [17] But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; [18] That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy

One Day At A Time

Image
I wanted to send you this poem today, and I remember it sitting on my mother's desk for many years before she died. She was always encouraged by this poem and I hope you will be encouraged with its truths along with me... "One Day at a Time" One day at a time, with its failures and fears, With its hurts and mistakes, with its weakness and tears, With its portion of pain and its burden of care; One day at a time we must meet and must bear. One day at a time to be patient and strong, To be calm under trial and sweet under wrong; Then its toiling shall pass and its sorrow shall cease; It shall darken and die, and the night shall bring peace. One day at a time - but the day is so long, And the heart is not brave, and soul is not strong, O Thou pitiful Christ, be Thou near all the way; Give courage and patience and strength  for the day. Swift cometh His answer, so clear and so sweet; "Yea, I will be with thee, thy troubles to m
