First Deputation Trip With All 6 of Us

Image
This last week we traveled to upstate NY, where we had some meetings and a family reunion for my Italian side of the family. This was a great trip in our new van and the Lord was good to us through the churches and we are so thankful for the Lord's travelling mercies!  We thought we were going to have to turn around and go home after only a couple hours of driving our first day. We stopped at a rest area, and Harrison saw that there was what seemed to be a coolant leak. So he poured in some more coolant, and it was just gushing out the bottom of the engine. We thought that a pipe had completely broken. So my husband went inside the rest area to try and find a number for a repair shop close by. He got the number to one just across the interstate we were on and we prayed we would be able to make it over there.  As we pulled up, we saw a man standing there as if he was just waiting for us and he and my husband talked over the situation and he took a look at our engine. June Prayer Letter

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Thank you all again for the continued prayer and support.  I am happy to inform many of you that your labor is not in vain!  During the past months while making deputation calls, I have seen a pattern—and it puzzled me for a long time.  Every missionary has to grind out the phone calls and do all the hard stuff about the deputation process.  But I kept coming back to the pattern I continued to see—and it didn’t matter where I called in the US:  north…same thing, south…same thing, west coast…same thing.   What is the pattern and WHY is God showing this to me? The Pattern: Pastors/churches want RESULTS….bottom line.  BUT the good news is that I as a missionary, building support to get to the field, can give results!  I thank God because I never really saw this before and am actually sorry that I have not done a better job of connecting people to the fruits of their labor.  I just took for granted churches saw missionaries and wanted to ge

Dunkin Donuts Blessing

This last week my husband was out of town at a seminar for 5 days and it was a long 5 days for all of us and the children especially! I tried to break up the long days with little things for us all to do. I had a coupon for Dunkin Donuts and thought that the children would enjoy going to get a few donuts for a treat. Whenever I go out, I always try to have a smile for those I come in contact with and try to show the joy of the Lord in a dark world. Friendliness goes a LONG way!  When I got to the drive thru, I greeted the cashier and placed my order. I could tell that the man wasn't very happy to be at work, but once he heard me be friendly, his voice completely changed. When I pulled around to pick up my order, the man smiled and handed me the box of donuts and wouldn't take my card to pay for it. He said for me to take it and enjoy them!  I told him that I had a coupon and would pay for them and didn't want him to get in trouble - he laughed and said he wouldn't
