Rooted & Built Up

Image
RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS! By Pam Iannello (my late mother) "Rooted & Built Up" Col. 2:6-7 (KJV) As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: [7] Rooted and built up in him , and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. When I first read this verse I noticed that the apostle Paul used an agricultural term and an architectural term to explain the type of Christian life we should have. He said that believers must be rooted and they must be built up . Hence, we are instructed to develop ourselves in two different directions – way down deep and way up high. So, how’s it going, dear lady? Are your roots dug deep in the rich soil of the Word of God? Are you a grounded believer? Are you changing for the better by increasing in Christ likeness? Are you constructing your character with truth? How would God answer these questions? Rooted: to become stable Built up: making spi

Room for Improvement

Rise and Shine for Jesus! \O/ By Pam Iannello (my late mother) "Room For Improvement" What character qualities do you find most attractive in other people?  If you could be better at one thing, what would you want to improve?   Keeping that one thing in mind, how do you think you are going to be able to add it to your life?  What do people often do to "grow" intellectually, spiritually, or in some similar way?  Let's look at the first chapter of the book of 2 Peter and see if we can't find God's answers to some of these questions. Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ: I like how Peter introduces himself to us in this verse.  He calls himself a servant AND an apostle.  As an apostle of Jesus Christ, Peter claims authority to be heard in the name of the Lord.  That means we need to listen to what he

Rizpah's Devoted Watch

RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS! \O/ By Pam Iannello (my late mother) "Rizpah's Devoted Watch" Motherhood definitely has its ups and its downs, to say the least. The condition of children is often a great distress to parents. And sometimes our children enter into troubles that only God can help a mother and/or father with… Some of you mothers have already experienced heartache as a parent and know from experience what motherly grief is like. Such was the case with Rizpah, a loving and deeply devoted mother with a broken heart for her boys. Let me briefly supply you a bit of background which I uncovered in my research of Rizpah and share with you why I was both convicted and highly motivated by her testimony. Basically, Rizpah was living in a time of national strife and war. Saul, when he came to power, pridefully broke an oath with the Gibeonites that had been made previously by Joshua. Then, when Saul met his death, David took over and was approached by

Haynes Family Prayer Letter - September 2018

SEPTEMBER 2018 Dear Churches and Friends, Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,    I thank God the summer is almost over and cooler weather is on the way.  It’s hot but not as hot as HELL, and that is the message according to 1st Corinthians 15 which we preach and will be taking to Italy for people who have never heard the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Italy has nearly 60 Million people and the very vast majority of them have never heard a clear cut message about Christ who died for their sins and Mary can’t help them! We are back in the south and with support at the current level, we are looking at starting the passport process.  We are going to start chopping away at passports as we are able, because we need 7 passports and they aren’t cheap, so we are going to try and be as prudent as possible with this part of the paperwork side and apply for them as we can. So please be in prayer for the necessary funds to do this. Prayer concern:  Our va

Reviving Our Children

Rise and Shine for Jesus! By Pam Iannello (my late mother) "Reviving Our Children" Recently, I was studying the topic of miracles in the Bible and stopped for a closer look at those pertaining specifically to children. I found that the approach taken in reviving adults was slightly different than the approach taken in reviving children. In various accounts, some specific steps were taken as is exhibited in the following story of a domestic calamity… 1 Kings 17:17-24 (KJV) And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him. [18] And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son? Here was a child, once healthy, who had become very sick and was now missing any sign of life at all - a son that desperately needed revival! Perhaps there i
