Protected From Phonies

RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS! By Pam Iannello (my late mother) "Protected From Phonies" How would you feel if you spent your life savings on a highly impressive piece of jewelry that ended up being a fake? What a waste, what a shame, and what a devastating blow it would be to your soul! Spiritually speaking that could happen to us as well if we aren’t careful. In fact, Paul was seriously concerned that certain saints might end up getting ripped off of the real thing… Col. 2:1-10 (KJV) For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; [2] That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; [3] In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge . God setteth the solitary in families...Psalm 68:6 Today I was introduced to Hope Now Ministries which is focused on showing the love of Jesus to orphans in Ukraine. They work with orphanages to meet children's basic needs while building loving relationships with them. I was saddened to learn that right now, there are about 750 institutions housing over 100,000 orphans in Ukraine and the majority of them were abused or abandoned by their parents. I learned that in Ukraine, after 9th grade, children "graduate" from the orphanage and many of these kids without a support system and without Jesus, just end up in street gangs, prostitution, and drugs. This is where Hope Now Ministries comes in...and you too! Please keep reading! God speaks many times throughout Scripture of His love for children and how He wants us to not offend them or discourage them.  Hope Now Ministries provides a means for you to encourage and sponsor a child who no longer has a family! Today we have a guest on this blog and I was introduced to their mission and was very intrigued by it! I had never heard of anything like this before, but I am excited to share their mission with you and their unique and very special way of incorporating Jesus and the Gospel into hair care. They are ministering to others in need of the Savior. The Tangled Hair Techs have shared their goal with us: Our goal is to SAVE your hair-not to CUT your hair. By working hard to save your tangled or severely matted hair you can preserve your God given beauty and self-esteem. "We help save hair, get the loving word of God  and Gospel of Jesus Christ out. Our work is tough and tedious.  We are restoring very matted  tangled hair and changing lives worldwide.  Our  work is based on the work of Jesus Christ.  He traveled to bring (Gospel) good news to  people. He brought healing, love, peace, blessings, freed people from bondage; but most importantly he demonstrated to us that not

Proof In The Children

Rise and Shine for Jesus! \O/ By Pam Iannello "Proof In The Children" What do you find most characteristic of young adolescents today? What kinds of activities would you say they are most often engaged in, healthy ones or unhealthy ones? What about believers? What characteristics are most prominent in the Christian young people with whom you are familiar? Do you think the parents have anything to do with the answer you gave? Let's look at this topic further as we study the life of Christ through the eyes of Luke in chapter 2 beginning with verses 39-41... And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth. And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover. We learn much about this particular family in just these three verses don't w
