Haynes Family Prayer Letter - January 2017

January 2017 Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ, Waiting in the van at the post office parking lot, through the rear view mirror, the figure of a man approaches me—staring at the back of my van. Little does he know, my dark sunglasses allow me to appear to look one way yet studying him...deciding my course of action. As he nears the driver's door, I get out to meet him: "Hey Man, What's going on?" I asked. With tears in his eyes he tells me: "I saw your sticker on your van...my life is such a wreck." This guy had some real issues, and I took some time right there in the Post Office parking lot to listen to him. After listening to his concerns, I gave him Scripture verses from a Bible I keep in the van and told him he needed to be in church....to be around God's people. He really needed to stop trying to figure everything out on his own and let the Lord through preaching of His Word direct his path . After inviting him to church once I cover

Heavenly Recipe: The Best Recipe of All Time

This recipe won’t cost you a dime to make, because Someone has already paid the price for you to receive it. In order to receive this great gift, you must first realize that you are a person who is not perfect because of your sin and thus without hope of Heaven. Then add the following ingredients: 1 Lost Sinner 1 large Dose of Conviction 1 large Heaping of Godly Sorrow 1 Merciful God (Provided free of charge) 1 Willing Savior (Provided) 1 Cross (Provided by the Savior) 1 Large Glass of Repentance 1 New Heart Once you have all the ingredients, start with 1 large dose of conviction which will be added to your heart by God. Then begin to stir in the 1 large heaping of Godly sorrow to make you see yourself the way God sees you - as unworthy to enter Heaven because of your sin. The 1 merciful God has already provided the 1 willing Savior, Jesus Christ that died on the 1 cross for you. Let this sink in. Once these ingredients have combin

The Haynes Family Missionaries to Italy Support/Sending Church Bible Believers Baptist Church ℅ Harrison Haynes 120 Capshaw Rd Madison, AL 35757 615-803-1725 haynes4italy@gmail.com December 2016 Dear Supporting Churches, Pastors, and Friends, First, I want to start off by saying "Thank You" for the Christmas cards, extra love offerings, and thoughts with prayers. Your kindness to us was much appreciated as we continued to present God's need in Italy to churches in TN during the month of December. It is a blessing to see how our Lord works in people's lives even during holiday times of the year...sometimes people you don't think are "open" to hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ surprise you and listen to your "reason of the hope that is in you..." (I Pet 3:15) This is slightly shorter than my normal prayer letters—not due to lack of content because we have had a GREAT year spiritually speaking! Leading people to Je

Paving The Way For Praise

Rise and Shine for Jesus! \O/ By Pam Iannello ( my late mother) To stir your thinking, I'm going to start off today’s devotion with a quote from D.L. Moody, which says:  “We don’t thank and praise God half enough! That is one reason why so many of our churches are so dull and gloomy. When churches get into a backslidden state, they hire singers to stand away up in some organ loft and praise God for them. How can we expect God to give us further blessings if we don’t thank Him for what He has given us?? There ought to be more of thanksgiving in our prayers, and there ought to be more of thanksgiving from the heart in our singing. One of the best ways to wake a church up and start a revival is to hold a praise meeting.” Ladies, I just want you to know that you don't have to wait until your church holds a praise meeting; you can hold one in your very own home - every day, all day long!  As God's children, we are thoroughly equipped to handl

Heavenly Recipe: Quinoa Tacos

Image
Today God gave me a happy find! We enjoy tacos in our family, but feeding a family of 7 gets pricey when fixing meat for dinner - especially beef! So the last time we had tacos, I had to fix something different for myself because 1 pound of beef was just not enough for everyone. However, I made myself some quinoa that night and put the taco toppings on it and it was quite tasty. I thought to myself how much the quinoa had the texture of ground beef and wondered if I could add it to our taco beef next time to make it stretch further....mental note. So tonight when having tacos again I had about 1/2 cup of precooked quinoa left over from lunch and decided to add it to the cooked ground beef when adding in the taco seasoning! Success!!! The taco meat was delicious and there were compliments from everyone at the table - including my carnivorous husband! You couldn't even tell the quinoa was in there AND there was enough food for all 7 of us this time all while being even more nutr
