How To Get Things Done Against All Odds

Image
  Benjamin Franklin was a great man and so much that he did inspires me. But one instance in particular so encouraged me, that I had to share it with you today...  "The story is told of Ben Franklin, who wanted to install street lighting in the city of Philadelphia. However, he knew the city fathers would refuse to pay the price. So he hung a beautiful lantern on a long bracket in front of his house. Passersby, stumbling in the dark, rejoiced in Franklin's well-lighted area. Soon his neighbors did as he had done. Before long the entire city saw the value of street lighting. Franklin achieved what he wanted by example, without arguments. One example is worth a thousand arguments.  " No wonder the Bible says " but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12 Thank God for the good examples from the past and present for us to follow - now YOU go be a good example for someone els

Look For A Sycamore

RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS! \O/ By Pam Iannello (my late mother) Luke 19:1-7 (KJV) And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho . [2] And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. [3] And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. [4] And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. [5] And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. [6] And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. [7] And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. A little man, a chief among publicans, and rich – these are the external attributes that the Bible offers us in regard to Zacchaeus. But the one thing that stands out to me as we go on with the text is

RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS! \O/ By Pam Iannello (my late mother)    How much do you take into account your potential reaction when planning something? What about the reaction of others? In what way can a project fail before it starts? Do you really know what you are getting into ? These are some questions I hope to find answers to as we turn to the Word of God for Biblical insight… Luke 14:31-32 (KJV) Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? [32] Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. Ladies, the Bible teaches us that if we are going to war against another king, we should endeavor to seriously determine our odds of survival. And frankly, anybody that is attempting to live wholly for the King of Kings is going to war with Satan! Yes, the devil is g

Longevity of Life

RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS! By Pam Iannello (my late mother)    Since I learned that I have breast cancer, longevity of life has been somewhat of an issue for me, and understandably so! I have so many more things that I would like to do in my lifetime, especially things pertaining to the work of the Lord. Cancer or not, none of us knows for sure how long we will reside here upon earth but we can gain some insight into this topic as we scan the lives of former believers. As you look over the scriptures below, ponder the noted attributes of a few of these men and women who experienced longevity of life. Their unique testimonies afford us some helpful hints for thriving till a ripe old age! But before we begin, let me ask you this question - would you be able to prolong your life ? It seems to me that character, not just health, might have had something to do with their extended existence… 2 Samuel 19:32 (KJV) Now Barzillai was a very aged man , even fourscore years old:

Rise and Shine for Jesus! \O/ By Pam Iannello (my late mother) Psalm 12:6 (KJV) The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. The Bible states above that the words of the Lord are pure words.  Do you appreciate that about the Lord, ladies?  If so, how are you demonstrating that when choosing your words, each and every one?  Of course, I had to stop for a moment and think about MY words after I read this verse...  Are they really pure ?  You see, while God speaks with purity, man speaks with vanity.  One of those vanities comes in the form of lying lips, lips that are not truthful.  One of the disguises that lying lips wears is flattery.  There are some specific attitudes and behaviors that we need to guard against when it comes to the way we use our words, and flattery is certainly one of them!  It is lying, and it is an impure use of our tongues... Psalm 12:1-4 (KJV) Help, Lord; for the godly man ceaseth;
