My Maker

RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS! \O/ By Pam Iannello (my late mother) A ministry of New Beginnings Baptist Church @ www.nbbconline.com Psalm 95:6 (KJV) O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker . It occurred to me today as I read the above scripture verse that I rarely regard the fact that God is my Maker. The dictionary defines maker as one that makes, forms, shapes or molds.  Ladies, if we were more aware that everything about us originates with the Lord, there would be clearer evidence of it in our form, our shape and the general molding of our lives.  Yes, God does rule all, but how are we responding to His authority? Here the psalmist invites us to do three things before the Lord our maker: 1)       worship 2)      bow down 3)      kneel Considering those three aspects of the above verse, let me pose a few questions. Are you faithful in attending worship services whenever the doors of your church are open? Does y

My Heart Is Set On It

RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS! \O/ By Pam Iannello A ministry of New Beginnings Baptist Church @ www.nbbconline.com Col. 3:2 (KJV) Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Many times as we read this portion of scripture we take a quick inventory of our hearts and conclude that we are not at fault for being entirely engrossed by things on the earth.  But ladies, I want us to stop for a moment and consider our plans and ideas , for they also fall under the category of “things”. Yes, even these must be abandoned for higher concerns… Despite that fact, we are frequently guilty of setting our affection upon events we hope will come to pass which could be altered by God or others… Is there any particular wish that you would like to come true during your life on this earth that you have set your heart on? Could it be that your yearnings might interfere with your ability to respond properly to this Biblical command? Ladies, if your affectio

Three Great Witnesses This Month

Image
I've been blessed to share the Lord with others 3 times this last month, and I tell you so that you will join me in prayer for these souls: The first one, I crocheted a scarf for our chiropractor of 6 years and gave the gospel to him with it. We have obviously known him for quite a while and he started treating me while I was pregnant with my first baby, so he's been with our family from the very start. He knows we are missionaries and we have talked personally with him about church and the Lord, but he is a mormon. So this year, I was able to use the opportunity to share the gospel with him again. Please pray for him! The second one, was my midwife. She helped deliver my last 3 children and she is such a dear woman. She is from India and a very sweet lady. I was able to also make her a necklace as a thank you for all she did and include the gospel with the gift. Please pray for her salvation! The third one, was a young lady from England who is new to America. She pur

Moved By The Master

RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS! By Pam Iannello (my late mother) A ministry of New Beginnings Baptist Church @ www.nbbconline.com Acts 20:24 (KJV) But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. Some Bible verses stick to your ribs for the day or sometimes they stick for the duration of a particular season of life and some become long-term fittings into our souls which believers often refer to as their “life verse.” Actually, my life verses came to me early in my Christian walk and are found in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 and have meant so much to me over the years for both public and private reasons. And then shortly before my husband entered the ministry full-time the Lord gave me this verse in Acts as a permanent focus for my role as the wife of a pastor and it has organized my heart and mind on nume

Mother's Day Out

Rise and Shine for Jesus! By Pam Iannello (my late mother) A ministry of New Beginnings Baptist Church @ www.nbbconline.com Proverbs 22:6 (KJV) Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. There probably isn’t a Christian alive who hasn’t read the above verse a time or two. We all know that children require daily and diligent tutoring in the manner they must live and that it is a command of God that as parents we do so faithfully. Naturally, as we are confronted with this scripture we would do well to pause and reflect upon our attitude toward the word “train”.  Do you like to train your children, dear mother? Do you want to train your children? You see ladies; if we have a “train up” attitude toward our children then we would reckon it a good thing to spend countless hours with them for this holy purpose. However, what I sense in many mothers today, including Christian mothers, is a “put up” attitude as a s

A Blessing Out Of Tangled Yarn

Amidst my love of learning more about crochet, I developed an interest in Tunisian crochet, but I've yet to try it. I did express an interest in it to the Lord, tho. Have you ever seen the Tunisian crochet hooks? They are really long, but they produce a really neat looking stitch.                                                                                      The other day, I was working on a winter shawl for baby Claudia from some yarn that a friend so kindly gave me from her craft closet that she didn't want anymore. I was having a particularly hard time with the yarn continually tangling! It was a nightmare! Honestly, I was considering not continuing the project, it was that bad. But I spent quite a while separating strands of yarn and unknotting everything and then continued on with my work. The next day, I was working on the shawl again, and ran into yet another seemingly internal knot. With a huge sigh, I lifted the large skein of yarn to investigate the new is

Motherly Evaluation

RISE AND SHINE FOR JESUS! By Pam Iannello (my late mother) A ministry of New Beginnings Baptist Church @ www.nbbconline.com Evaluating Myself As A Mother: How do I relate to my children? Because we are a church that targets home life, it is easy to note when and where Christian mothers are weakening in their mothering skills. When there is slackness to the practice of child training, like it or not, a lack of humble obedience permitted in your home shows up in the various church ministries in which children are involved, as well as in a variety of other social settings.    Are your children able to submit to authority without question or complaint?   1 Tim. 3:4-5 (KJV) One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; [5] (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)   Put aside your thoughts of other mothers right now and stop and consider whether or not YOU have begun to
